grace

Grace. For some reason it seems this is what God has been trying to teach me through this time. And it seems the more that I try to learn, the more I am blown away of how much I don't really know about it.

For those of you who don't know, my wife had a miscarriage and lost our 13 week old little boy. It hit me hard, I shed a good bit of tears. And for some weird reason the word 'grace' and 'mercy' kept coming up.

Even though I don't think I will ever really understand it on this side of heaven, it was a true picture of God's grace and mercy. For we may have never really known if there may have been something drastically wrong with our child, something that maybe we couldn't handle...and God in His infinite wisdom allowed our baby to go home to heaven. Free from the pain of this world.

There is so much that I can say and it might actually end up being too much. All I can say is never stop being "amazed" by grace or mercy. For it is the very fiber of our Christian being.

We named him Aden (abudant grace) Nathanael (gift from the Lord) Kerr.

thank you

First all let me start by saying 'thank you'. Thank you to all the prayers, the cards, the encouraging words, gifts, the good food, the hugs, the phone calls and also those who just listened and were just there with us at this time. I can never truly express, how deeply we appreciated each and every one. May God bless you and your families for being with us through this difficult time that we faced.

Da..Da..

8:45p.m. - I make a profound discovery while giving my daughter her bath. She looks up and says, "Da..Da..." So I look in amazement and say "Shaela", she looks up and I point to myself and say "Da...Da ?"

She repeats and I call Laura to witness this glorious event (and maybe to also rub it in)

8:46p.m. - After a few run throughs we come to find out she also calls mommy this and even the cats this as well...Laura gloats.

Today was not a good day for "Da...Da..." Maybe tomorrow.

father's day

Well this year actually marks my very first Father's Day. Only been married a year, with a daughter at 8 months old and one on the way.

I also got my first gift. I was given Spiderman 3 on DVD, some reese's peanut butter cups, some mints, and a few small other things as well.

I tell you it doesn't get any better than a movie and peanut butter.

I also like to take time to tell my Dad thanks. He taught me the importance of hard work. He has been there for me in some tough situations. He has shown me how to be a man who loves the Lord. He has been a great Father. I love you and I hope that I pass on what you have taught me. Happy Father's Day.

Modern day Good Samaritan?

I didn't know how many of you had seen this video yet. I saw it this morning on the "Today Show".

It was truly shocking to watch as this old man got hit by a car and no one helped him.

This story reminded me of the story in the bible. Except there was no good Samaritan in this story.

There were people walking on the side that kept on walking. There were those that stopped enough to look and then kept on walking. Some even driving around the man. No one even called 911. Luckily a cop who was driving to another stop, happened to see the struck down man.

There are times when we get so focused on our lives, our own worlds that we don't see the fallen...the bruised...and beaten. We just tend to block them out and even become blind and numb to them.

There are those out there that the world has really knocked down and they need help. We need to be Jesus to them!

But instead we walk on by...
